SHOULD YOU INVEST YOUR MONEY INTO COINS?

SHOULD I INVEST MY MONEY IN OLD COINS?

People ask me all the time, should I invest my own money into coins? You probably already know my answer that I give them, of course you should. I also tell them, that if you invest a couple of hundred dollars today, they might become several thousands down the road. Also, coin collecting is a long-term investment and takes many years to increase in substantial value. I am also going to give you a little secret, oops, this is not a secret anymore; you can actually start coin collecting with about $20 cash. How? Well, if you go to your local coin show and take just $20 you will be able to buy a few less expensive coins with it. I am going to list some examples of coins you are able to buy at a coin show for about $20. So, after realizing that you don't need to spend thousands of dollars, you should start investing in old coins immediately.

You can buy this type of a Franklin Half dollar for about $8 ea.

You can buy this type of Mercury Dime for about $1.50 ea.

Now, for Wheat Pennies, some dealers have a huge tray and you just pick out as many as you like for $0.10 ea.

You are able to buy this Washington Quarter for about $4 ea.

The prices that I have listed below each of the different coins are just estimates of what dealers usually sell them to the regular public, also depending on the spot metal price, the coins might be more or less. One trick that you can use when buying coins is know the spot price of silver at that given moment, if you are going on a weekend show, please tell them the spot price for Friday. One, they will appreciate you more and might even discount your coin picks. Another trick that you can use is to bundle a few together and you will get a better deal that way. The condition of the coin will also inflate or deflate the price per coin. I do not recommend to buy coins that are in Good condition because you cannot even make up all of the words and the year.

These are just a few of the coins that you are able to buy for $20. This included at least 10 wheat pennies, 2 silver quarters, 5 silver dimes, and a half dollar. You might even have a little change to go through after the show!!!
